Ladies, let's get ready to do it all over again! Being the masters of the sneak attack announcements that they are, the fab five have announced their latest extravaganza of crazy. If you're a Block Nation member or AmEx holder, you probably already have your tickets. For the rest of you, Hold On, Girl until February 2nd.
I am looking forward to hanging out with my OG ladies and nerding out to some serious boy band fun. It does feel a little bit different this time, though. Life has gotten in the way over the past year or so and it feels more like our own reunion; me and my NK-loving ladies. I am so excited to see them and catch up. I'm not gonna lie, that almost excites me more than the show.
Okay, let's call it 50-50.
But this ride has always been more about the friendship for me.
Sure, I love the New Kids. I mean, who here could say that they don't? That's what brought us together.
But, this ride has also been about the bonds we form when we find common ground; especially common ground that so many others (dare I say, the majority of the world) would find borderline-certifiable. It's about all of the friendship we find beyond that of our reunion addiction. It's about our long talks, our parties, the work that we sometimes do together (I'm talking about you, Cricket), other bands that we go see (gasp, what?), and truly being friends through more than just concerts and failed attempts at cruises. That is the stuff that means the world to me. That's what this reunion ride has been for me.
So, while I can't wait to see those guys we love (and those other guys we love); I really can't wait to spend an evening having fun with my friends, my NKOTBFFs.
Linds, Cricket, Davie - I can't effing wait. Nikki - we'll pour one out for you.
Wait, does that make it sound like she's dead? She's not. Don't worry.
